South Carolina Coalition for Healthy Families

The South Carolina Coalition for Healthy Families is a non-partisan group that unites organizations and individuals in support of increased access to family planning and reproductive healthcare information and services.

Our Mission

We aim to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies, abortions and cases of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in South Carolina by increasing access – access to medically accurate information, family planning services, and reproductive healthcare.

What We Do

Amidst the highly-charged, often politicized debates over reproductive health, we take a non-partisan position. We support prevention, medical accuracy, privacy and personal responsibility while opposing censorship.

We advocate for:

• equal access to affordable, high quality reproductive healthcare
• medically accurate, age-appropriate family planning education.
• freedom to make informed and responsible life decisions
• privacy in matters of personal health

To accomplish our work, we:

• bring together organizations and experts from across South Carolina to analyze the potential legal and medical impact of state legislation.
• provide information to lawmakers, the community and the media.
• advocate for state policy that supports our mission.
